The latest project of the Green Cardinal Initiative is the SVSU Dirt Bag Brigade. With funding from the Allen Foundation, Dan Klarich, Alyssa Tarrant, Caitlin Cooper, and I have started the Dirt Bag Brigade. Our plan is to use earth bag construction techniques to construct a prototype earthen greenhouse based on some greenhouses I saw in China last year. Soon we will be scheduling volunteer days when you too can become a Dirt Bag by, well, coming out to the SVSU Greenhouses and filling some bags with dirt.
