There are some interesting points in this article including the comment that only in the US is the existence of climate change still debated. This debate makes political action difficult. I think this highlights how control over science and knowledge is powerful political tool.

Um, if you looked around on the blogs you'd see that its debated in Canada, its debated in the UK, its debated in Australia, its debated in New Zealnd. It may be debated in some non-english speaking countries as well. To claim that the US is the only place where it is still debated is a narrow view from the alarmist side only.
