Modern China in 20 minutes
I've often been in positions where I have had to try to describe modern Chinese society. I have struggled to negotiate the cultural similarities and differences in a way that resonate with American college students. The economic, and increasingly political, global influence of China is undisputed. The cultural implications of the rapid changes that are taking place in China are more difficult to trace. That being said, Martin Jacques in this TED talk does a damn good job.
